Stephen B. Jackson, MPH, BS

(President)

Stephen B. Jackson, M.P.H., B.S., is a dedicated health administrator, community leader, and national consultant based in Omaha, Nebraska, with over two and a half decades of experience promoting good health across the public and private sectors. Throughout his career, Mr. Jackson has leveraged these positions to build cooperation among public health stakeholders, healthcare providers, health and human service agencies, and not-for-profit organizations to produce optimal health outcomes for constituents where they live, work, and play. Additionally, he serves on several nonprofit boards as a vital extension of his commitment to giving back to the community.

Brenda Brown, BS Healthcare Management, CPC, BLS Instructor, CHW (Vice President)

Brenda Brown, CPC, is a seasoned healthcare leader with over 35 years of experience managing physician practices throughout Nebraska. A certified coder with the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC), she serves as the Treasurer for the Metro Omaha Chapter of Professional Coders (MOCA). Brenda is also a trained Community Health Worker (CHW) and has dedicated 22 years to serving as a Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor with the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC). Deeply committed to community wellness, she chairs the Health & Wellness Ministry board at Morning Star Baptist Church and lends her expertise to various local boards. Throughout her diverse leadership roles, Brenda is driven by a lifelong passion for helping others and finds immense joy in serving her community.

Darla Blevins BSW, CHW

(Treasurer)

Darla Blevin is a dedicated Community Health Worker at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Nebraska, where she leverages her diverse social services background to help individuals navigate complex healthcare needs. Her foundational training from the UNMC College of Public Health, combined with firsthand experience in behavioral health, substance use, human trafficking, and disaster relief, makes her a trusted and versatile community advocate. Outside of her professional work, Darla loves spending quality time with her five grandchildren, attending music concerts, and traveling.

Vanetta A. Early BS, MA, CHW

(Secretary)

Vanetta A. Early is an accomplished administrative professional and Community Health Worker (CHW) who plays an integral role in advancing public health infrastructure and community wellness. She seamlessly bridges executive operations—such as project management, meeting coordination, and executive minutes—with foundational public health responsibilities, including community engagement, field data collection, and chronic disease education. A dedicated advocate for patient self-sufficiency, Vanetta designs strategies to help individuals navigate complex healthcare networks, promotes preventative behaviors, and coordinates vital basic-needs resources like food, medication, and transportation. Additionally, she leads professional development initiatives for fellow CHWs, ensuring healthcare services directly reflect local community strengths and needs while strictly maintaining absolute medical confidentiality.
